300 Youth. One Mission. A Greener Future.

Under the GEAF Ambassador Programme, SESDO contributed to the 4.29 Green Earth Action Day 2026 in coastal Bangladesh, bringing together young people and communities around climate awareness, environmental action, and long-term responsibility for nature.

On 29 April 2026, nearly 300 students, teachers, and community members came together at Khalishkhali Saiva Balika Vidyalaya in Satkhira, one of Bangladesh’s climate-vulnerable coastal regions, not just to talk about environmental change, but to take action.

The day included climate education, plastic cleanup, tree planting, and community engagement. A defining highlight was the Tree Ownership Model, through which each participant became a guardian of their own tree. The approach aims to turn environmental awareness into a lasting sense of responsibility and connection with nature.

For SESDO, climate action is not only about planting trees. It is about creating relationships between people, communities, and nature that can continue long after a programme or campaign ends.

As part of our continued commitment to youth engagement and environmental stewardship, we aim to reach 5,000 students with 5,000 trees by 2030, helping young people become active participants in building a greener and more resilient future.
