3 Hectares Ready for Restoration: Site Preparation Completed
A new chapter of Mangroves4Life is taking shape in Gabura Union, Shyamnagar, Satkhira, Bangladesh, along the edge of the Sundarbans.
On 13 August 2026, SESDO completed site preparation and protective fencing for the next 3-hectare restoration phase, covering two plots.
On 25 August 2026, Mangroves4Life signboards were installed at both sites, marking the restoration areas within the landscape.
This is more than preparing land.
It is about creating the conditions for ecological recovery, community participation, and long-term stewardship.
Our work follows the Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR) approach, which places local communities at the centre of restoration planning, ecological assessment, natural regeneration, active restoration, and long-term stewardship.
The next phase of field restoration is already underway, and SESDO is documenting each stage through field photographs, videos, and project records.
From site preparation to restoration action, we will continue sharing the journey from the field as the work progresses.
