A Shared Commitment. A Living Legacy.

A Shared Commitment. A Living Legacy.

A memorable milestone for Mangroves4Life and a meaningful step forward for the Sundarbans.

Led by Tapas Kumar Mollick, GEAF Ambassador (Cohort ’26), ACT II — Roots of Hope Reforestation Series, under ACT for Nature: A GEAF Initiative, brought communities together for meaningful environmental action.

With support from the Green Earth Action Foundation (GEAF) and SESDO serving as the implementing partner, Mangroves4Life is advancing a one-hectare community-based mangrove restoration effort guided by the Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR) approach.

On 15 October 2026, 75 community members and volunteers gathered in Parshemari, Gabura, Shyamnagar, Satkhira. Through an awareness rally, an educational session and gap-filling planting, 210 mangrove saplings were planted across the restoration site, with local communities and Indigenous Munda members actively involved.

For our coastal communities, GEAF’s support means more than project assistance. It represents trust, hope and a shared commitment to a sustainable future.

The journey ahead requires patience, dedication and long-term care. Our commitment is to nurture this one-hectare site into an excellent example of successful and sustainable mangrove restoration through continued community engagement and monitoring.

Planting is an activity. Restoration is a long-term commitment.

Together, we continue this journey for nature, communities and future generations.

If the Sundarbans survive, we survive.
