Climate Change Driving Child Marriage in Gabura, Bangladesh.

“Climate Change Driving Child Marriage in Gabura, Bangladesh.”

Do you have any idea about the effect of salinity on coastal areas due to climate change? Do you know anything about how many people in this region are in trouble, how miserable they are living? Have you been there? Do you want to listen to those people, what they really have to say? Then listen, we will tell you, the mind of those people, the real situation there…………

Satkhira is a district on the coast of Bangladesh where about 22 million people live. The people of this region are directly affected by climate change. The water problem in this region is due to salinity, and because of this water problem.

No crops are growing and because of this lack of crops, food is not being produced. People are suffering from food problems, people are suffering from malnutrition due to lack of food, people are not able to work on the agricultural land, then it is seen that they are not getting food and also there is no work, people living below the poverty line, due to this scarcity, see what other problems are happening there.

Boys and girls are not able to study due to poverty, boys and girls are dropping out of primary school, resulting in young children being forced into child labour, climate change is showing that a child in poverty is not getting enough food. , suffering from malnutrition, not being able to study due to influx, finally being forced to resort to child labour, then many are involved in drugs, and maybe some are even indulging in anti-societal terrorism, the society is also suffering, the boy who is well established today Was supposed to contribute to family, society and country, today that boy is a burden to his family, society and country only because of climate change.

A girl who drops out of school or who is unable to study at all due to poverty is seen being married off at the age of 11/12, child marriage has become a toxic scourge in this region today, with 95% of girls in this coastal region. Marriage is within 11/12 years. A child is born within 1/2 year of marriage, due to marriage and childbirth at such a young age, mother and child are affected by thousands of diseases, many times the mother dies while giving birth and sometimes the child dies. So it is seen that the girl who is self-educated and self-reliant should enlighten the society, the country, the nation and her next generation, but that girl today is afraid of climate change, today she is forced to submit herself to child marriage, she is rushing towards a dark future along with herself and her next generation.
