From Seeds to Seedlings. From Care to New Life.
A few weeks ago, the women-led mangrove nursery in Gabura was just beginning.
Today, it is full of life.
More than 95% of the seeds have successfully germinated, with healthy young mangrove seedlings now growing across the nursery.
Keora (Sonneratia apetala), Banna (Avicennia officinalis), Kakra (Bruguiera gymnorhiza), Goran (Ceriops decandra), and other locally suitable mangrove species are taking shape for the next phase of restoration.
What began with Indigenous Munda women preparing seeds is now becoming a nursery full of new life.
Not overnight, but one seed, one seedling, one community, and one careful step at a time, the next generation of Mangroves4Life is taking root in coastal Bangladesh.
Thank you to everyone who has stood with us throughout this journey.
