History of the Organization

SESDO's story has an extraordinary beginning. SESDO is located in the Satkhira district of Bangladesh, which is located in the southwestern part of the country along with the Sundarbans. Due to the effects of climate change, salinity, and natural disasters, people in the area have been living below the poverty line for many years. Unable to bear the plight of the people of the area, Mr. Tapas Kumar Mollick started helping the people little by little, according to his ability. While this may not alleviate human suffering forever, it does help to put a smile on a person’s face for a while. Mr. Tapas Kumar Mollick’s interest in working for the people, for society, and for the environment increased even more when he saw the solutions to human problems and the smiles, happiness, joy, and love on the faces of the people. One thing he realized was that nature, the Sundarbans, wildlife, animals, birds, climate, water, agriculture, animal husbandry, fish farming, and the people of the area were spiritually dependent on each other. But sometimes it is seen that this beautiful balance between people and the environment is damaged due to various reasons. To maintain this balance, a society free of hunger and poverty must be established, and efforts must be made to conserve and restore nature, the Sundarbans, the environment, and biodiversity in order to achieve sustainable development. In view of this, a decision was taken to form SESDO with a group of expert youth, which was formed on February 21, 2017. The journey of this organization started with the participation of a group of young people, environmentalists, sociologists, doctors, livestock officers, agriculture experts, economists, literary experts, academics, researchers, social workers, nature lovers, and local people.
