Mangroves4Life: August 2025 → August 2026
One site.
One year. A remarkable transformation.
In August 2025, this landscape was severely degraded and highly vulnerable to coastal pressures.
Twelve months later, the same site is showing clear signs of ecological recovery, with young mangroves establishing across the landscape.
This progress has been supported through Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR), combining ecological understanding, local knowledge, and the active participation of local women, youth, and members of the Munda community.
They are not simply beneficiaries. They are co-creators and long-term stewards, contributing to planning, implementation, monitoring, ownership, and the continued care of the landscape.
Their meaningful involvement has been fundamental to this progress.
