Mangroves4Life: CBEMR Progress and Proof of Impact | August 2026
Just twelve months ago, 1.29 hectares of coastal land in Gabura Union, Bangladesh, were degraded and highly vulnerable to coastal pressures.
Today, the landscape is showing clear signs of ecological recovery, with mangroves growing and local communities actively stewarding the restored areas.
Through Community Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR), SESDO is bringing together ecological science, local knowledge, and community ownership, with women and youth at the heart of the process.
