Restoring with Nature, Guided by the Land

The land tells us what restoration needs.

Our role is not simply to plant. It is to listen, understand, and restore accordingly.

In Gabura, Satkhira, the 2026 restoration phase of Mangroves4Life has moved from preparation to action.

Through our Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR) approach, 20 community members, including 10 women, 10 members of the local Munda community, and 4 youth, have begun Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) through direct mangrove seed planting.

Site conditions, hydrology, soil, water, previous restoration experience, and local ecological knowledge guided the selection of six locally suitable mangrove species, including Keora (Sonneratia apetala) and Banna (Avicennia officinalis).

For us, CBEMR means:

Observe the ecosystem.
Listen to the people.
Understand the site.
Restore with the community.

Every seed placed is more than a seed. It is a step toward restoring a living coastal ecosystem.
