The next generation of mangroves begins with a seed, and with the women who nurture it.

In Gabura, Indigenous Munda women are leading a community mangrove nursery to prepare 5,000 mangrove saplings for the next phase of Mangroves4Life across 3 hectares.

They are collecting and preparing locally suitable seeds and sowing 6 to 7 mangrove species in poly bags, with Keora (Sonneratia apetala) and Banna (Avicennia officinalis) prioritized for the restoration landscape.

This nursery is growing through shared community effort, Indigenous knowledge, and women-led action.
