Meet the Community Who Will Lead This Restoration Season
Every restoration journey has its heroes.
For Mangroves4Life, they are the women, young people, fishers, farmers, and community leaders of Gabura Union, on the edge of the Sundarbans, Bangladesh.
In the coming days, they will begin the 2026 restoration season through Community-Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration (CBEMR).
Together, they will assess restoration sites, collect mangrove seeds, establish community nurseries, and restore degraded coastal landscapes while strengthening biodiversity, climate resilience, and community stewardship.
Mangroves4Life has never been about planting the most trees.
It is about empowering the people who will protect those trees for generations to come.
We believe that lasting restoration begins with local leadership, shared responsibility, and communities working together with nature.
As the new restoration season approaches, we are honoured to continue this journey alongside the people who know these landscapes best and who will remain their long-term stewards.

Together, we are restoring more than mangroves.
We are restoring hope, resilience, and a future where people and nature thrive together.
